FERDINAND ESCLUSO – Il difensore del Manchester United aveva dei problemini fisici, e sotto consiglio di Sir Alex Ferguson, il ct dell’Inghilterra ha deciso di non convocarlo. In difesa, al suo posto giocheranno Cahill e John Terry.
LA SODDISFAZIONE DI HODGSON – “Non è stato semplice fare la squadra per le finali ma sono soddisfatto del risultato– ha detto il ct Hodgson-. John Ruddy ha giocato una grande stagione a Norwich mentre Oxlade-Chamberlain mi ha impressionato. Andy Carrol è diverso, abile nel gioco aereo, sa difendere il pallone e far salire la squadra”.
LE AMICHEVOLI E L’ESORDIO – Prima delle finali l’Inghilterra giocherà in amichevole contro la Norvegia a Oslo il 26 maggio per poi ospitare il Belgio a Wembley il 2 giugno. L’11 giugno affronteranno la Francia nel primo match di UEFA EURO 2012 valido per il Gruppo D.
